When we had those extremely cold days near zero degrees F. a few weeks ago, I got to thinking about warmer climes. But I dislike hot whether as much as I do cold, to say nothing about my aversion to travel.
So the next best thing is a tropical style drink. So I looked up recipes and found one for a banana daiquiri that I like.
1 medium banana, chopped
1 ounce fresh lime juice (about a medium lime)
1 1/2 ounces light rum
1/2 ounce triple sec
1 teaspoon simple syrup
Blend with an immersion blender, add two or three ice cubes and blend again. Pour into a glass.
I’ve found some great strawberries that I’ve been using as a garnish.
Now all I need are those little paper umbrellas and I can imagine that I’m in a tropical island.
