I just received word that my former primary care physician, Dr. David Major died due to pancreatic cancer.
I knew that he retired last year because of illness, and I had gathered that the illness was cancer of some sort, but I didn’t realize it was pancreatic which is one of the worst.
As I wrote previously, Dr. Major was my doctor for about 25 years, and he was an excellent listener. Of course, he was also an excellent diagnostician.
It was Dr. Major who decided I ought to see a cardiologist about my heart murmur, and of course, that led to the open heart surgery that I had about nine years ago to repair the heart valve.
My sympathy goes out to his wife, daughters, and granddaughters.
