If you’ve enjoyed Into the Woods, either via the video that I linked to yesterday or having seen it in some other way, you might wish to go a little deeper into the creation of the show with Lapine and Sondheim.
There are lots of YouTube videos to help.
For example, here is a conversation that I think aired with the PBS broadcast of the musical where the two creators were interviewed by longtime newscaster Edwin Newman.
Then there is this Conversation Piece that Music Theatre International has made available for theater groups that are producing the musical. You can watch the whole hour, or visit the link and just watch the parts of the playlist that interest you.
Finally, if you really want to get into the weeds, so to speak, there is this video that claims Sondheim hid a puzzle in a song in the score.
There are plenty of other videos about Into the Woods available, including full performances by students and others, some of them even worth watching!
Enjoy!
