I tried out a recipe for Indonesian Fried Rice.
It has shallots, chile peppers, garlic, molasses, brown sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, eggs, shrimp, and scallions.
For the peppers it calls for either Thai chiles or serranos or jalapeños. I found serranos on 9th Street, so I used those.

It seems any time I try out a new recipe that has more than three steps, I always forget something so I’m scrambling at the last minute.
In this case, I forgot to chop the jumbo shrimp (such an oxymoron!) into thirds, so I had to do it while the chile mixture was browning in the pan.
Somehow I got everything done in my tiny kitchen.

While it turned out pretty good, I’m not sure if it was worth the trouble.
Of course, if I make it again it should get easier. Right?
Looks delicious 😋
