I stopped taking Allegra though it’s too soon to tell what the results will be. Ask me in a week or so.

In the meantime I tried to stop an Allegra order from Amazon but they had already shipped it, so when I received it, I tried to return it.

Amazon is generally pretty liberal in its return policies, but this time they surprised me.

I answered their questions and told them that I had not opened the packaging that the Allegra came in. It was still in its shrink wrap. I wouldn’t have even considered returning it otherwise.

Their automated system accepted the return and credited a gift card for the full amount.

And then it told me that I would not have to return the Allegra.

On reflection, I guess this makes sense. They would have to sell it as a returned item and who wants to buy a used package of pills?

They probably also calculated into their algorithm that I don’t return very many items as a percentage of what I buy, so they were willing to take the loss.

What they don’t know is that I’m in the process of going through all the items that I buy regularly from Amazon and making a note of those that I can easily get locally for a similar or not much higher price—with the intention of buying locally in the future.

I’ve made noises about cutting back on buying from Amazon in the past; now I’m getting serious about it.
