So How’s the Noise Now?

View from the back.

Even after that contractor told me that the boom, boom, boom was over with, there was still a fair amount of hammering and other noise over the next week or so as the workers put up the siding and installed the windows in the structure on the house down the street.

But most of the exterior work seems to be over with now and the past few days have been blissfully quiet.

It’s been especially good lately as the weather has broken and I can keep the windows open.

However, there were a couple days last week where the hammering started up again.

But I realized pretty quickly that the sound was very different.

It turned out that a different neighbor was having new windows installed.

Now here’s the thing. Why couldn’t they get their new windows installed while the other neighbor was still boom, boom, booming away? Why did they have to wait until the other neighbor’s noise had settled down?

Beats me.

In any case, here’s a view of the structure from the front of the house. I think it looks very strange. Not exactly an eyesore, but it doesn’t really blend into the surroundings either.
