The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society (PCMS) has discovered that by live streaming some of its concerts and allowing folks to donate whatever they wish, they have been able to raise more funds than just about any other method. So they’ve continued the tradition.
Here is how they phrase it on their web site:
PCMS livestreams are offered on a pay what you wish basis. These performances are possible only because of the generous support of friends like you. We thank you for contributing as generously as you can when watching these events. Gifts of any size are deeply appreciated. Please use the form below to give or text PCMS to 44321.
If you’re interested in watching any of the live streams, here are the ones that are coming up this fall. Click the link for more details.
Karim Sulayman, tenor
Sean Shibe, guitar
Einav Yarden, piano
Raphaël Feuillâtre, guitar
Valentin Kovalev, saxophone
Amy Yang, piano
The full schedule of all the concerts, including the ones that aren’t streamed, can be found at this link.
I’m especially looking forward to Einav Yarden’s piano recital as it includes a few pieces by my new favorite composer, Joseph Haydn.
