A Difference in More Than Style

Jobs iPhone 1.

On a recent episode of Scriptnotes Craig Mazin noted the contrast between Steve Jobs’s announcement of the iPhone and Elon Musk’s announcement of the cybertruck.

Jobs iPhone 2.Jobs’s presentation was carefully planned down to the smallest detail, and it went off without a problem.

You can watch an excerpt of it here.

By contrast, Musk’s presentation was amateurish in the extreme.

Musk cybertruck.

Just watch it.

It always used to annoy me when people would compare Musk to Jobs. Thankfully you don’t hear that anymore these days.

I have to say, whenever I see someone driving one of those cybertrucks around the city, I always get a good laugh. It’s hard to believe anyone actually buys those things.

There were many differences between Jobs and Musk. It’s worth remembering that Jobs famously took a salary of only one dollar per year during his years at Apple whereas Musk is soaking Tesla for all he can get.
