More Short Takes

There is a bonus episode of the Pluribus podcast featuring Rhea Seehorn and Carol Burnett. It has absolutely nothing to do with the show; it’s simply those two fine women exchanging embarrassing and hilarious anecdotes.

Rhea seehorn.

Give it a listen: “Carol” and Carol: A Conversation

I’ve heard Carol Burnett tell the story about her performance in The Front Page previously, and while it’s a funny story, I think her performance in that movie is better than she gives herself credit for.

Meanwhile, John and Craig discuss everything you ever wanted to know about Stuart Specials.

You don’t know what a Stuart Special is? Then you definitely need to listen to The Flashforward Fallback.

I want to point out, however, that Craig relates a Sondheim anecdote about fixing the opening of A Funning Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and although he gets the gist of the story right, the details are all wrong.

I’ve been off Allegra for over a week now and haven’t noticed a problem, so I guess it made sense to stop taking it.

I had an 8:20 AM appointment with my cardiologist and he was 25 minutes late. This is normal. He even made a comment to the effect that it was good that I had an early morning appointment as later in the day the delay gets much worse. When I went to make the appointment for next year I found to my chagrin that all the morning appointments were taken, and the earliest one I could get was for April 29 at 12:40. Now I have a whole year to stew about how late he’ll be to that one.
