It’s a Class Action!
I received a notice via email that I’m a member of the class that has reached a settlement with The University of Pennsylvania, the Owner and Operator of Penn Medicine, for disclosing its patients’ personally identifiable information to third parties via tracking pixels offered by Facebook in violation of blah, blah, and it goes on.
This all allegedly happened about five years ago.
The defendant denies all wrongdoing blah, blah, blah.
On and on it goes.
I might be entitled to up to $15.
All I had to do was go to a website and enter the unique PIN that’s included in the email.
I decided not to bother.
I figured there’s probably some more strings attached, and “up to $15” does not necessarily mean $15 anyway.
In any case, FB was more than capable of disclosing my personal information to third parties without the help of Penn Medicine and I’m sure they did.
So I might have been more interested in getting 15 bucks from FB.
