I like true crime stories and I’ve sampled several different true crime podcasts, but most of them seem to be two women hosts chatting and laughing about incredibly grisly stories. The more horrific and grislier the stories, the more the hosts laugh.
None of those were keepers, as far as I was concerned.
Then I stumbled upon the True Suspense podcast.
Not only aren’t its true stories especially horrific or grisly, but the host (singular) doesn’t laugh at all as he presents them. And there are no commercial interruptions.
The podcast divides itself into seasons, with one story per season and about five episodes to a season. I’ve listened to seasons three and four so far and both of those came to satisfactory endings. But which I mean they had a beginning, a middle, and an end. I wasn’t left dangling as to how the story would come out.
So I’m going to go back and listen to the first three seasons now, with the expectation that they’ll be just as satisfactory as the last two.
