I don’t know how long the promotion will last, but as I type this Amazon has the price of Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 for only $153.99, nearly a hundred bucks off.
The AirPods Pro 2 (as opposed to the original AirPods Pro, not to be confused with the AirPods non-Pro) include the new Hearing Aid Feature as well as all the other Pro stuff. I’ve been meaning to write about that feature for awhile and maybe I’ll get around to it one of these days.
Meanwhile the Fresh Air podcast featured an interview with cellist Yo-Yo Ma that I think is well worth your time. He talks about being a child prodigy, his rebel years, and straddling three cultures: American, French, and Chinese.
Then there was the Piano Puzzler for November 27 which featured Mitchell Shapiro calling from Fort Lee, New Jersey. This one was a bit on the difficult side, at least as to the the tune. I figured out the composer right away, but as to the tune, I could hear bits of it during the first play-through, but as Bruce Adolphe changed the rhythm of the melody, I couldn’t quite figure it out, but during the replay I finally got it. If you want a little hint: it’s a song from one of the musicals that I consider a favorite that isn’t by Sondheim or R&H.
And while we’re on the subject of limited time offer (as I was with the Amazon link), here’s a recent live performance from Wigmore Hall. I think they only keep these around for about four weeks, so it has about three more to go. It’s the Leonkoro Quartet playing Haydn and Mendelssohn.
Apologies if you come across this post after the Amazon promotion has expired or the Wigmore Hall concert has been removed.
Note: When you purchase something after clicking Amazon links in my posts, I may earn a small commission. As of this date, I have yet to earn anything. 😎
