For the past two years the insanely rich asswipes who own the 76ers sports team have been trying to prod the city into building a new sports arena in the Chinatown section of Center City.

The good folks of Chinatown have been against it from the start, but of course, who listens to them? Why should they have a say in what happens to their own neighborhood?

There have been studies, money has been spent, bribes have been paid, and people have testified. Anyone with a lick of intelligence has been against the proposal because it made absolutely no sense, it would cause loads of problems, and solve none.

But that didn’t stop our idiot mayor from coming down squarely in favor of the new arena, nor did it stop our worthless city council (the problem with having a one party city) from voting for it.

After all, big money conquers all.

And now when all systems are go, the Sixers owners say they were only kidding anyway. This whole thing was just a charade, a negotiating ploy to get a better deal from Comcast Spectacor.

Wonder if those idiots in city council will learn a lesson? That’s a rhetorical question. Of course they won’t. Certainly our idiot mayor won’t learn from it; she hasn’t got the capacity to learn.

Meanwhile, there is joy in Chinatown.

I’m not opposed to sports, but wouldn’t it be nice if there was a law that required that fifty cents of every dollar that was brought in by sporting events to be donated to a worthy charity?
