It’s the Capacity

I’m delighted with the capacity of the new washer. It looks like I’ll be able to do a full week’s worth of towels, for example.

This morning I washed a comforter which had been uncomfortably compressed in the old washer but seemed to feel right at home with room to spare in the new one.

Plus, the new washer has a dispenser for liquid fabric softener, so I can dispense with the sheets that I had to toss into the dryer. And it has a setting for a second rinse, as well as a cycle especially for bulky items such as sheets or the comforter, although truth be told the comforter didn’t seem so bulky in the spacious new washer drum.

That said, I’m disappointed that I don’t have full control of the cycles as I did on the old one. I can only set the cycle, I can’t, for example, just  throw in items for a quick rinse, or repeat a particular item like wash or spin. Oh, well, win some, lose some.

Meanwhile, the dryer can really dry! I mean really.

When I set it to one of the automatic cycles, it keeps going well after the items inside are perfectly dry. I’m used to the “Less Dry” setting but even that one seems to give me more drying power than I need. I may have to start using the timed drying feature.

Which is what I did for the comforter this morning and that worked out pretty well.
