Piano and Movies and the Bible

I guessed the composer on this week’s Piano Puzzler after the first few measures, and if you want to know how I did it, just listen to Bruce Adophe’s explanation when the answer is reveled. That’s how. But I’m embarrassed to admit I couldn’t get the hidden tune. Normally when I have difficulty with the tune, I can usually depend on the middle section giving it away, but this tune doesn’t really have a middle section.

Piano puzzler.

See how well you do.

Meanwhile, on Scriptnotes John and Craig announce that their long-talked-about book is finally taking orders. Then they do another round of How Would This Be a Movie? “Stories include a mother taking on the revenge porn industry, a wife navigating her husband’s longtime crush, a government worker who was secretly recorded on a date, and the potential destruction of solar storms.”

It’s a good episode.

Reveal podcast the bible says so.

Then on the new episode of Reveal, religious scholar Dan McClellan examines how Christian nationalists abuse the Bible to gain political power. “Folks who love power more than they love people are the cause of a lot of the social ills that we have today.”

Listen to the episode entitled “The Bible Says So…or Does It?”
